Purpose of the role:
The Python specialist will be responsible for providing excellent client support through several activities across a range of insurance products. The role entails delivering software solutions to our clients, in collaboration with other Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers to ensure that the agreed business requirements are met.
The Python Special will be involved in the development and testing of pricing software in Python. Working closely alongside the Product team, the role entails delivering software solutions to our clients, in collaboration with other Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers to ensure that the agreed business requirements are met.
Responsibilities:
Undertake new functionality build within pricing software
Maintain and update python coding
Develop python models for calculations
Required skills and knowledge:
Key Technical Skills Required
Educated to degree level in a computing / analytical / statistical / mathematical discipline or relevant experience
A Level Mathematics Grade A* - A
Keen to pursue Actuarial Science
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical mind
Desirable skills and knowledge:
Technical Skills
Strong python coding experience, able to write own packages, unit test etc
Strong experience with numpy, pandas or similar
Experienced in algorithm efficiency optimization
Experience on tensorflow or PyTorch or similar
Experienced working with version control, dev ops, virtual environment
Experienced with react, vue or similar
Personal Skills
Enthusiastic with excellent problem-solving skills
Showing initiative / self-motivated to get the job done and improve practices
Great interpersonal skills - ability to converse with both internal and external customers
Excellent written and verbal communication
