We're looking for a dynamic and innovative Director of Investment Operations in India with a management consulting or operations background, preferably from a top-tier consulting firm, to build the first-of-its-kind tech-forward team and operations.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Role:
As our Director of Investment Operations, you will be at the forefront of our portfolio operations, ensuring seamless management and efficiency optimization of our portfolio. You will become intimately familiar with your unique portfolio, execute at the highest level, and ensure that the portfolio performs optimally. The role needs a high performer who will resolve complex and ever-changing challenges. Adaptability, high attention to detail, and impeccable communication are a given. We are planning to grow the portfolio rapidly, and it’s incumbent upon you to exercise extreme ownership in all business areas, including leasing, repairs & maintenance, renter service/satisfaction, and accounting, to ensure everything goes smoothly.
Essentially, you will build an entire company within the larger organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the management of our residential properties, ensuring high levels of renter satisfaction.
Systematically assess, organize, schedule, and execute tasks by leveraging our task management software, Monday.com
Resolve complex problems as they arise and permanently resolve the underlying issues to prevent them from happening again.
Enthusiastically embrace innovation.
Develop and implement robust operational systems and processes, drawing on best practices from management consulting and operations.
Utilize programming skills to automate and integrate various operational systems for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
Conduct comprehensive market analysis to inform strategic decisions regarding property management, tenant acquisition, and retention strategies.
Manage relationships with tenants, vendors, and contractors, ensuring high-quality service delivery and maintenance of properties.
Prepare and manage budgets, financial reports, and forecasts, providing regular updates to senior management.
Lead, mentor, and develop on-site property management teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in property management and real estate investment.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal Candidate:
At least 5-8 years of industry and consulting experience combined.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, STEM or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
Proven background in management consulting or operations at a top tier consulting firm, with a strong understanding of operational excellence and system optimization.
Hands-on experience with programming and system automation for business operations; proficiency in at least one programming language is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational systems and processes independently.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Extreme attention to detail.
Outstanding verbal and written interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to manage and develop teams.
Flexibility to work according to US business hours and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Real estate management experience is advantageous but not required.
Familiarity with Monday.com and Notion is a plus.
Self-driven and intrinsically motivated with the ability to prioritize and consistently meet deadlines.
