Highlights from HR Tech Europe 2025

Alice

As you may or may not know, TestGorilla is a fully remote company. We work online, and we're spread across the globe. And until now, our brand's presence has mostly remained online, too.

We want that to change. We're taking every opportunity we can to push our brand out into the physical world, and engage with our audience IRL.

We took our first stab at this for HR Tech Europe, and boy was it fun. We sent our team to Amsterdam with a big pink booth, a bin for chucking CVs in, some very pink jumpers, and all their best skills-based hiring chat. Here's the highlights!

The team, the booth, the bin

If there's one thing we like to do at TestGorilla, it's stand out. Our team donned their pinkest jumpers so that people would know exactly where to find them. From left to right: Dimitri, Gordon, Rob, Marcelo, Martyna, Dayna, and Olive. Not pictured: Our awesome designers, who designed the boldest booth in the place and were beyond relieved when they realized it was in fact the right shade of pink.

No, we didn't position Gordon under the "BIN IT" sign intentionally. Yes, we've had a lot of fun with it internally.

Approximately 200 resumes binned

We're all about binning CVs, and we wanted to give people a chance to do it for real. Our little recycling bin was a hit, and we binned approximately 200. Bad day to be a CV.

Olive's talk: How skills-based hiring is reshaping talent acquisition

We did get serious, too. Our wonderful Head of People, Olive, gave a brilliant talk about how skills-based hiring is reshaping talent acquisition (and why you should bin CVs). Here she is in action:

The energy was contagious, the ideas were flowing, and the passion for innovation was palpable. I loved sharing the stage and connecting with so many forward-thinking HR professionals. There is just so much engagement around skills-based hiring. It's interesting to me that we're no longer really debating what skills-based hiring *is* anymore, but *how* to do it well. The conversation is gathering momentum, and it's exciting to be right in the middle of it!

See you around 👀

Needless to say, we loved meeting new people and talking face-to-face about all things skills-based hiring. If you were at HR Tech and swung by the booth – it was great to meet you! If not, we'll see you around. We're planning on increasing our presence at IRL events, so we might be coming to one near you soon!
