We cut through many candidates and hired a good full-stack developer. We were able to customize the coding assessments per candidate. One likes Python instead of R? That's fine, send the Python assessment. C# instead of Java? That's fine for us, so send the Java assessment. We also were able to get a feel for how clear the full-stack developer would communicate because it assessed their soft skills in receiving instruction and "going to paper" before spending a bunch of time coding something we did not exactly ask for.
