About the Angular test

Introduced by Google in 2016, Angular is one of the most popular frameworks for front-end development of fast and light apps without unnecessary coding. In addition to accessing all the great features and components of Angular itself, hiring an Angular front-end developer will enable you to leverage the vast ecosystem of third-party components available for this open-source framework to boost productivity.

Hiring front-end developers with the highest level of knowledge and skills requires a thorough evaluation. This Angular test evaluates candidates' knowledge and skills in Angular components, directives, pipes, and forms. It also assesses candidates' abilities with Angular services and RxJs as well as Angular modularity and core modules.

Candidates who perform well on this test have a good understanding of how the Angular framework works at a fundamental level. They can follow the best practices and advanced techniques, and create a well-designed architecture following the Angular style guide.

The test is made by a subject-matter expert

Alex C.

Ask Angular specialist Alex about his favorite aspect of web development and he’ll tell you it’s all about the front end. He holds a deep fascination for the tangible, palpable nature of a user’s interaction with a dynamic website or web application.

In more than five years in the field, Alex has built a network of clients that spans North America and Europe. The diversity of these relationships has given Alex a broad point of view and a unique understanding of global business practices.

Any tool can have functions—bells and whistles. Not every tool comes armed with staff passionate about making the user experience positive.

The TestGorilla team only offers useful insights to user challenges, they engage in conversation.

For instance, I recently asked a question about a Python test I intended to implement. Instead of receiving “oh, that test would work perfectly for your solution,” or, “at this time we’re thinking about implementing a solution that may or may not…” I received a direct and straightforward answer with additional thoughts to help shape the solution.

I hope that TestGorilla realizes the value proposition in their work is not only the platform but the type of support that’s provided.

For a bit of context—I am a diversity recruiter trying to create a platform that removes bias from the hiring process and encourages the discovery of new and unseen talent.

Angular online coding test

What is an online Angular test? How will it help you?

An online Angular test is a pre-employment skills assessment that helps you evaluate your candidates’ expertise in the Angular framework and their understanding of its features and best practices in a faster and bias-free manner.

Angular was first introduced back in 2016 and today it’s one of the most popular frameworks for front-end development. Even though it’s quite popular, there’s still a limited number of Angular experts out there. That means that the competition for the best Angular talent on the market is intense.

On top of competing with other companies, you’re also competing with outdated hiring processes that are harming your recruitment. There are three main factors that could lead to suboptimal results when hiring a developer:

Limited pool of quality candidates: Even though you’re probably receiving more applications than ever for your open job roles, that doesn’t mean that you’re getting a lot of highly qualified candidates. The reality is that hiring managers often receive tens or even hundreds of applications for each job opening – but there are only a handful of candidates who meet the role’s requirements. But hiring managers still need to go through all of the CVs and resumes and shortlist the candidates that they think are a good match for the role.

Hiring bias: When shortlisting applicants, you have no way of making sure the ones you chose are really the best or if unconscious bias influenced your selection. Even if you’re familiar with different biases and doing your best to minimize their impact, they still affect the decision-making process.

Reliance on resumes: With CV screening, hiring managers to spend countless hours sifting through resumes. And most of the time, they can’t really tell which candidates have the necessary skills and which ones just have good CV writing skills.

Luckily, there’s a simple solution to address all of these challenges: pre-employment skills tests, such as TestGorilla’s Angular test.

What will you be evaluating with the Angular skills test?

A pre-employment assessment featuring an Angular test enables you to solve all the problems listed above and identify the best talent without relying on candidates’ CVs – and without bias.

The test itself is geared toward intermediate-level programmers and takes 10 minutes to complete. But those 10 minutes are enough to evaluate candidates’ four fundamental Angular skills:

Angular components: The first section of the Angular pre-employment test will evaluate whether the candidates know how to operate various Angular components such as Autocomplete, Ripples, Sidenav, Chips, and Cards.

Angular directives, pipes & forms: This part of the test will verify whether candidates know how to use pipes to transform strings and whether they know how to use structural, built-in, and attribute directives in Angular.

Angular services and RxJs: This section of the pre-employment test will evaluate whether the candidate knows how to use two things from the RxJS library: Subject and Observable.

Angular modularity and the core modules: The test will also assess whether candidates know how to use NgModules, root modules, and NgModule metadata.

With an Angular test, you will see which candidates have the necessary skills, experience, and knowledge to be successful and productive in your open role and help your team achieve its goals. Look for candidates who get a high score on the test: This shows that they have the right skills to succeed. You can also combine it with other tests, either for technical or cognitive skills, to get an in-depth understanding of your applicants’ qualities.

The data you gather will help you make an informed hiring decision. And this specific pre-employment test is really helpful if you’re hiring any front-end developers who need to use the Angular framework to create applications and components.

Use the online Angular skills test to hire top candidates in a matter of days

With the help of our Angular coding test, you can address many challenges at once and make your hiring process smoother and faster. TestGorilla’s test enables you to:

Evaluate hundreds of applications effortlessly: Receiving hundreds of applications for a single open job role might be a problem when you’re screening CVs manually, because it takes time and is inefficient, and automated CV screening systems might fail to identify some of your best talents. The solution? Skills testing. Using pre-employment assessments like this Angular test enables you to screen tens or hundreds of applications with minimal effort and evaluate applicants’ skills objectively. You simply need to send the test to all candidates and wait for the results. So even if you receive a ton of applications, this isn’t a problem at all: You can send the test with a single click to 5, 50, or 500 applicants.

Eliminate hiring bias: When you’re screening CVs manually, you can never be 100% sure whether you’re able to identify the best candidate: The process is slow, inaccurate, and leaves the door open to bias. Pre-employment tests help address these issues and evaluate applicants objectively and accurately. With this test, all candidates are evaluated similarly, on the basis of their skills. Once you receive the test results, you’ll be able to quickly shortlist your best applicants and disqualify those who don’t meet your criteria for the role, bias-free.

Stop relying on candidates’ resumes: If you’re screening CVs, you’re using only one source of information, candidates’ self-assessment. But let’s face it: Not all candidates are honest in their evaluation of their skills – and you have no way of knowing the truth at this stage. With pre-employment tests, you won’t need to rely on candidates’ resumes; instead, you’ll receive an objective assessment of their skills and knowledge.

TestGorilla’s pre-employment tests can help you streamline your hiring process. We’ve worked with more than 5,000 companies such as Sony, Oracle, PepsiCo, and H&M to help them make better hiring decisions, consistently.

We have a library of over 220 pre-employment tests you can choose from to hire the right candidate for your open role.
